🧛🦇Join is as we explore all there is to see and do in Whitby. There is something for everyone.

AN INTRODUCTION TO WHITBY

In our article today, we look into the many things there are to do in the wonderful town of Whitby in North Yorkshire. From its Gothic Abbey, pretty harbour, many independent & quirky shops, plus quaint narrow streets.

Around many a corner, you will find links to Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Whitby hosts regular Stam Punk and Goth events. This is represented in many of the shops and many visitors arrive at the event in magnificent costumes.

WHERE TO PARK IN WHITBY

🚗🚾We parked in the Marina Front Car Park. Its postcode is YO21 1YN. There are toilets in the car park, which I believe are pay ones. We always arrive here early (before 9am) to maximise our chance of getting parked.

To park beside Whitby Abbey the postcode is YO22 4JT

WHAT IS THERE TO SEE AND DO IN WHITBY

Whitby Abbey – The 13th century Abbey is one of the main attractions of Whitby and sits high above the town, you can drive or get a bus there, alternatively there are 199 steps to get us there. When up at the Abbey you are rewarded by spectacular views all around Whitby.

Whitby Museum of Victorian Science – is found close to Whitby in the village of Glaisdale.

Whitby Harbour

The Magpie Café Restaurant – while not the only food outlet in Whitby it is in my opinion the best fish and chips I’ve ever tasted. The batter was fine but extremely tasty, it just melted in my mouth.
