Where is Old Hunstanton?

Old Hunstanton is in the North Norfolk area of England in the UK.
It is not far from Hunstanton Town, Sandringham, Kings Lynn and many other Norfolk coastal towns and villages.
It is funny how you can live so close to an area for most of your life but do not realise it is actually there! Well Old Hunstanton is one of those places. Why have I never been before? It is so peaceful and beautiful!

What is there to do and see in Old Hunstanton?
Dog Friendly
Dogs are permitted all year round on Old Hunstanton Beach and our dog Archie loved every second of it. It helped that we had just come out of lockdown and it was a rather chilly day! So, although the tide was in the beach was really quiet allowing him to have a lovely off lead run.
Sandy Beach

When the tide is out you have a huge golden sandy beach. Perfect for a day of relaxing or a long walk with the dog.
Sand Dunes

There is a long stretch of sand dunes at Old Hunstanton, for you to chill and watch the sea.
Beach Huts

There is an amazing array of Beach Huts at Old Hunstanton, of many colour shapes and sizes. The ones I liked the best being a dog owner were the ones with a fenced and gated outside areas. This would be equally a bonus if you were hiring one with a small child as would allow you to relax.
Hiking Trail
Peddar’s Way hiking trail passes through Old Hunstanton on it’s 46 mile journey from Knettishall Heath to Holme-Next-The-Sea
The hiking trail follows an ancient Roman Road through the area.

The Old Lighthouse at Old Hunstanton was previously used to keep all the ships and boats safe as they entered the local waters, it is now a Holiday Cottage.

If you climb over the sand dunes you can see the Hunstanton Links Golf Club.
The course is available for visitors to play, there are restrictions though and being a championship links golf course, it is not cheap.

From this station they operate both an Atlantic 85 lifeboat and a rescue hovercraft.
They undertake station exercises on a Sunday morning.
Under normal circumstances you can visit the lifeboat station and they have a shop.

Hunstanton Town
There is lots to do in Hunstanton, everything you would expect from a British seaside resort, a fairground, Sealife and adventure golf for example. But I will do a fuller review of Hunstanton in a future article.
Depending on where you have parked, Hunstanton is around a mile away from Old Hunstanton.
